slurp ramen factory review

I am a big fan of ramen. Cheap ramen, fancy ramen, you name it. Earlier this year (aka before I started this blog) I went to Slurp Ramen Factory with my parents. My dad and I ordered the brisket ramen and my mom got something with less meat (maybe the black tonkatsu? not quite sure) and we got a basil popcorn chicken appetizer and soy garlic chicken appetizer to start with. The overall atmosphere of Slurp was very factory-like, as the name suggests, which I did not expect. It was very grey, cement-like, and industrial-looking. I personally enjoyed the aesthetic, as I love minimalistic decor, but it was definitely not everyone's taste. I'm pretty sure my mom hated it.
This was the basil popcorn chicken appetizer. I was a big fan of this. It was easy to eat with a fork, well seasoned, well cooked, and came with some sriracha mayo (my favorite condiment). We also had some soy garlic chicken as an appetizer but I did not take a picture. This was good as well. I think I prefered the flavor of the soy garlic chicken, but they were not fried (think glazed chicken wings) and were much messier. Both appetizers were reasonable priced and had a nice presentation. I would recommend them both. Every table at Slurp also gets a three-dish mini appetizer that includes some cucumber and a small salad. This was a good sampler. My dad loved the salad (which I believe had some sort of ginger dressing) and ordered a full one for himself. I'm not a big fan of salad, but this one was pretty good. My parents enjoyed it.

This was my bowl of brisket ramen, which was their specialty at the time we went (in June, not long after the grand opening) but it looks to still be available. This was fantastic. The broth was delicious and the brisket was tender and flavorful. There was a good noodle to broth ratio and the noodles were not overcooked in the slightest. The egg was cooked perfectly as well (I love a soft-boiled ramen egg, and in my own experiences I would say it's not easy to get right). I would definitely recommend this dish. My dad enjoyed it as well. My mother got one of the basic ramens and let me try it, and it was very good as well, but I preferred my own choice.

Slurp Ramen Factory is located at 5530 W Grand Parkway S Ste 550 in Richmond, TX 77406.

Have you ever been to Slurp? What are your favorite ramen places?
